Dhcp not updating reverse lookup
Is that rule true for Win2K Mixed-mode domains with child domains running 2003 DCs and 2003 DHCP servers?
Win 2K environments are vulnerable to a security-related mis-config re DNS/DHCP, whereby the DHCP servers lack the necessary permissions to auto-delete client DNS records.
Fix is to verify that all your DHCP servers are members of the "DNSUpdate Proxy" default security group in the AD Users container.
Folks, I have a Juniper EX4200 DHCP server with Microsoft DNS server 2008, my problem is that since I installed the juniper DHCP server the reverse lookup zone on the microsoft DNS server stopped getting updated.
I scoured the internet for a solution and found none, but it was mentioned somewhere that I should enable "option 81" on my EX4200 DHCP server. and does anyone know how to configure "option 81" and what is needed to be configured on the Microsoft DNS server side ?
hello, I have a win2k Server (SP4..fully updated) DNS server (Active directory intergrated).i have a problem, old records are not being deleted from the reverse lookup zone.
I am not at all sure the forward lookup zone records are updating ok but in the reverse lookup zone, new records are added but old records stay...
